Job Description:
This position requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and a license in the State of Texas to practice engineering. Qualifications are a minimum of 5 years experience in the field of Public Works showing increasing responsibility in the design and preparation of construction plans and contract documents for public work projects including water, wastewater, paving and drainage facilities. Design experience for water and wastewater plants is a must. Applicant must be proficient in planning, conducting, and coordinating engineering work and must be able to provide mentoring, guidance, and direction to technical support staff.

Job Description:
This position is in the Land Division. This candidate will assist the design originator and investigate data for a routine design effort by applying engineering fundamentals. The candidate will determine design criteria, drawing sequence and presentation, sizing various system components and refine rough sketches and notes to include material quantities and equipment specifications obtained from standard calculations and vendor catalogues. Technical adequacy of non-routine work is reviewed during progress and on completion. Routine work is reviewed on completion. Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is a plus.

Location:  West Houston Office - LAND DIVISION
Job Description:
This position is in the Land Division. This candidate will perform non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity. Work may involve areas lacking precedent, and may coordinate the design work for a project. Performs design calculations, prepares material equipment specifications and provides preliminary sketches and notes for drawings. May, as an exception, act in a lead role over some drafters. Sometimes may be called a checker (non-supervising). Technical adequacy of work will be reviewed on completion. Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is preferred.

Candidate must be capable of performing design calculations, preparing equipment or material specifications, and provides direction to technical support personnel. Assignments require the investigation of a limited number of variables; supervisory assistance is provided on unusual problems and possible solutions.

Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree, Civil Engineering and 2-4 years of post-graduate experience, certified Engineer-in-Training but not yet a Licensed Professional Engineer.
