Teal Run Community Keeps Growing

The first sections of Teal Run, a thriving 500-acre single family development in southwest Houston, were opened in the early 1980's. To respond to the area's rapid growth, a new community of entry level homes is being developed by New Teal Run, Ltd.

Construction is currently underway for Teal Run Court and Section 9 of Teal Run, located on State Highway 6, one mile west of 521. LJA project manager David Tinney comments, "It has been exciting to be a part of such a successful development. Houston is experiencing a nice rate of growth, and communities like these, which provide attractive, affordable housing are doing very well."

One aspect of LJA's work involves the expansion of two detention ponds on the property. These ponds are designed to capture stormwater run-off, to minimize drainage impacts on Long Point Creek.

The Teal Run community includes a recreation center as well as an elementary school. A small section of the property includes commercial projects. The development is self sustaining with its own water plant and wastewater treatment facilities.

LJA is responsible for full infrastructure design, platting and construction supervision. The firm also acts as District Engineer for Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 23. LJA has also successfully performed feasibility and economic analyses for the District which completed two significant annexations in recent years.
