LEAGUE CITY SEES NEW COMMUNITY

First phase construction has begun on Victory Lakes and Victory Ranch, a 530-acre mixed-use development located on IH-45 South at Highway 646 in League City.

LJA Engineering is providing platting, design, project representation and construction administration for the project developed by Appaloosa Land Company.

Plans call for more than 717 homes, priced from $160,000 to $1 million, within a richly landscaped residential section. Amenities include a recreational center, swimming pool, tennis courts, spa, playground, and exercise facilities. The community will be interspersed with seven lakes, walking trails and extensive landscaping.

The corporate office park, or "Power Center", includes 16 buildings with more than one million square feet of Class A leasable space in a campus-like setting. Victory Ranch & Victory Lakes offer a unique live-and-work opportunity for League City.

For this major development, LJA participated in engineering design of an advanced high speed fiber optic backbone to serve both business and residential users. The enhanced broadband width in homes and offices will provide ultra-high-speed Internet capability, including e-mail, videoconferencing and multi-point Internet access.

LJA has also provided engineering services to support a 199-foot communications tower, visible from access roads, IH-45, the Sam Houston Tollway and the Galveston Causeway.

According to Victor Botrie, President of Appaloosa Land Company, "The tower is a fitting landmark for the technology corridor that is rapidly developing around NASA in the aerospace community."
