Mr. Fan has 18 years of structural engineering experience, including eight years with TxDOT. He has designed major bridges in the Houston area including interchanges and highways. He also was the lead investigator and key engineer for a number of high-risk repair and rehab bridge projects.

His research in steel bridge won him an ASCE national award, and is cited by the current AASHTO LRFD Bridge Specifications. He co-authored a design guide book on steel box girder bridge for AISC. He taught a graduate level course, Stability of Structures, at the University of Houston.

Although better known for his expertise in steel bridge, Mr. Fan also has design experience in buildings and industrial structures. From his extensive engineering practice and research, Mr. Fan developed the problem-solving skills that enable delivery of reliable and economical solutions for structural engineering challenges.
