Mr. Daniel J. C. Copps, III, PE, has joined LJA Engineering & Surveying, Inc. (LJA) as the Highway/Bridge Division Manager in the firm's Houston Public Infrastructure Division.
Dan has more than 20 years of experience in highways and bridges, buildings, foundations, retaining walls, seismic retrofit and drainage structures. His experience encompasses roadway design, hydrology and hydraulics including pump stations, and structural design and analysis, including bridge and retaining wall layouts. He has also been responsible for project management, design supervision, project engineering, specification development, and cost estimating. Prior to joining LJA, Dan was the Transportation Department Manager, and later, Houston Area Manager, for a large international consulting firm. He has served as Project Manager for more than 50 on- and off-system bridge replacement and rehabilitation projects for several TxDOT districts. He also brings to LJA TxDOT experience in multi-level interchange, exotic bridge and direct connector design. In his new role at LJA, Dan will be responsible for pursuing TxDOT's major highway and bridge work throughout the State of Texas.
A licensed Professional Engineer in the States of Texas and California, Dan is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
