Paul Bright, PE, RPLS, has joined LJA Engineering & Surveying, Inc. (LJA) as Senior Project Manager in the firm's Houston Public Infrastructure Division.
Paul has over 20 years of experience on various transportation projects consisting of schematic design, including route location, horizontal and vertical geometric design, signing, right-of-way requirements determination, control of access requirements, preparation of PS&Es, hydrologic and hydraulic studies, cost estimation and plan review. Prior to joining LJA, he designed numerous roadway projects for Harris County, TxDOT, HCTRA, FBCTRA and private entities. His responsibilities have included project coordination, preliminary engineering reports, construction phase services, right-of-way determination, preparing project budgets and contracts, invoicing and monitoring of project costs. Most recently, Paul managed the design for a section of the SH 45 project for the Texas Turnpike Authority and State Highway 130 Segments 5 and 6. SH 130 is TxDOT's first highway to be developed under a Comprehensive Development Agreement allowing the work of property acquisition, design and construction to be undertaken simultaneously. In his new role at LJA, he will be managing the design of highway and turnpike design projects for TxDOT, toll road authorities, and through comprehensive development agreements.
A licensed Professional Engineer in the States of Texas and Oklahoma and a Registered Professional Land Surveyor in Texas, Paul is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
