Robert Calderon, PE, has joined LJA Engineering & Surveying, Inc. (LJA) as Project Manager in the firm's Austin office.

Robert has more than 10 years of civil engineering experience serving both public and private sector clients. He has managed numerous commercial projects including retail, multi-family, warehouse/industrial, and central business district projects in the Austin area. His responsibilities for these diverse projects included management, design, approval, permitting, budgeting, and construction administration. His development experience includes a private channel improvement project which required a Conditional Letter of Map Revision (CLOMR) to FEMA and included a railroad crossing permit.

Robert has secured project approvals from TxDOT, the City of Austin, Travis County, Williamson County, and the Village of Bee Cave. His design experience includes three complex City of Austin CIP projects which included design, permitting, approvals, and bid phase coordination through construction. Roberts experience also includes assisting in setting up the HEC-HMS model as part of the Tropical Storm Allison Recovery Project (TSARP) in the Houston area.

Robert is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and the U.S. Military Academy at West Point with a Bachelor of Science degree.
