Mr. Gerald Freytag, PE, has joined LJA Engineering & Surveying, Inc. (LJA) as a Project Manager in the firm's Transportation Division.

Gerald has more than 25 years of experience in the engineering and management of transportation projects. He worked for TxDOT's Yoakum District in various capacities including Assistant Area Engineer and District Pavement/Bridge Engineer. His experience includes managing pavement activities, pavement design and research, bridge design and inspection, construction and maintenance inspection, quality assurance/quality control, contractor relations, and public relations.

While at the District, Gerald was heavily involved in pavement research, having served on numerous project advisory panels and on TxDOT's Research Management Committee for Pavements for nine years. He was responsible for the inspection and reporting of the District's 2,700 bridges, reviewing the Districts bridge designs, and served as the liaison with TxDOT's Bridge Division in Austin.

At LJA, Gerald will be managing transportation projects and leading the transportation QA/QC process.

A licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas, Gerald is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor and Master of Science in Civil Engineering.
